Campfire 3

Rhythms can also be played as single notes. This technique is called arpeggiating and makes the basic strumming patterns more interesting to listen and much easier to sing over. If there are 2 guitarists playing a song one of the players will almost always arpeggiate while the other strums. That was the formula used by 2 guitar bands like the Beatles and Stones throughout their careers. Because all the notes in an arpeggiated pattern are part of the same chord it is impossible to play a wrong note. The only thing that the guitarist must pay attention to is to not lose the rhythm when arpeggiating a pattern. In this level the focus is to build on the 9 basic rhythms by learning to arpeggiate them.
